Colour Therapy

Color therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is a form of therapy that uses color and light to treat mental and physical health conditions. (verywellmind.com)

In studies, colors have been shown to change alpha brain waves. According to EEG and pulse measuring systems, men and women react differently to colors. When color is transmitted from the eye to the brain, the brain releases a hormone affecting the emotions, mind clarity and energy levels. (renketkisi.com)

Colour therapy is a safe and effective treatment and can either be used on its own or alongside another therapy like physiotherapy, TCM and so on. Regardless of how it’s used, it is important to understand that the therapy can strongly affect the mind and body.

All colours discharge waves of pulsation which creates the feeling of cold or heat after colliding to an object. Different colours create different feelings/effects for e.g. Burnt (itch) by Red, Warming effect from Orange, Light warming from Yellow, Green feels no warm & no chill. Colour creates feelings of cut, hurt, hit or sting. People don’t normally think about colours.

Green Colour

Green Colour is highly-effective for nervous system & high blood pressure.

Green color is the one that creates balance. Most of the Vegetables are of green colour. If they are taken in any form cooked or un-cooked the effects of green colour are inhaled into the body.

If a part of body is paralyzed then emitting Red rays on that part increases the flow of blood & the nervous system becomes normal & if the same rays are cast upon navel & upper limb then it creates stimulation in stiff veins. Reddishness in the yellow epicenter increases stomach pain 7 other coours have their own values.

Brown is a natural colour that evokes a sense of strength and reliability. It’s often seen as solid, much like the earth, and it’s a colour often associated with resilience (it is an ability to recover), dependability, security and safety. Brown can also create feelings of loneliness, sadness and isolation.

In large quantities, it can seem vast, stark and empty, like an enormous desert devoid of life.

Brown brings to mind feelings of warmth, comfort and security. It’s often described as natural, down-to-earth and conventional but brown can also be sophisticated.

Darker colors like brown tend to be associated with more negative emotions.

How colour affects your body

Color is a powerful communication tool and can be used to signal action, influence mood, and even influence physiological reactions. Certain colours have been associated with increased blood pressure, increased metabolism and eyestrain.

Modern Research on Colour Psychology

Most psychologists view color therapy with skepticism and point out that the supposed effects of color are often grossly exaggerated. Colors also have different meanings in different cultures.

Research has demonstrated in many cases that the mood-altering effects of colour may only be temporary. A blue room may initially cause feelings of calm. But the effect dissipates after a short period of time.

However, existing research has found that colour can impact people in a variety of surprising ways.

Warm-coloured placebo pills were reported as more effective than cool-coloured placebo pills in one study.

Blue-coloured streetlights can lead to reduced crime according to anecdotal evidence.

Red causes people to react with greater speed and force, something that might prove useful during athletic activities according to researchers.

Black uniforms are more likely to receive penalties. Additionally, students were more likel to associate negative qualities with a player wearing a black uniform according to a study that looked at historical data of sports teams and what they were dressed.

Colour can Influence Performance

Studies have also shown that certain colours can have an impact on performance. No one likes to see a graded test covered in red ink, but one study found that seeing the colours red before taking an exam actually hurt test performance.

While the colour red is often described as threatening, arousing or exciting, many previous studies on the impact of the colour red have been largely inconclusive. The study found, however, that exposing students to the colour red prior to an exam has been shown to have a negative impact on test performance.

In the first of the six-experiment described in the study, 71 U.S. colleges students were presented with a participant number coloured either red, green or black prior to taking a five-minute test.

The results revealed that students who were presented with the red number before taking the test scored more than 20% lower than those presented with the green and black numbers.

Colour and Consumer Purchases

Colour psychology suggests that various shades can have a wide range of effects, from boosting our moods to causing anxiety. But could the colour of the products you purchase ever say something about your personality? For example- could the colour of the car you buy somehow relate to some underlying personality traits or quirks?

Your colour preferences why buying items might say something about the type of image you ma be trying to project. Colour preferences, from the clothes you wear to the car your drive, can sometimes make a statement about how we want other people to perceive us. Other factor such as age and gender can also influence the colour choices we make.

White : As many of our readers have suggested, the colour white can feel fresh and clean. The colour is often used to evoke a sense of youth and modernity.

Black: Our readers often describe black as a “powerful” colour, which might be the reason why black is the most popular colour for luxury vehicles. People often describe the color as sexy, powerful, mysterious and even ominous.

Silver: It’s the third most popular colour for vehicles and linked to a sense of innovation and modernity. High tech products are often silver, so the colour is often linked to things that are new, modern and cutting-edge.

Red: Dreaming of a red vehicle? Red is a bold, attention-getting colour, so preferring this type of car might mean you want to project an image of power, action and confidence.

Blue: People often describe blue as the colour of stability and safety. Driving a blue car or SUV might indicate that you are dependable and trustworthy.

Yellow: According to the experts, driving a yellow vehicle might mean that you are a happy person in general and perhaps a bit more willing than the average person to take risks.

Gray: The experts suggest that people who drive gray cars don’t want to stand out and instead prefer something a bit more subtle.

Of course, the colour selections we make are often influenced by factors including price, selection and other practical concerns. Not only that, but color preferences can also change in time.

A person might prefer brighter, more attention-getting colours when they are younger, but find themselves drawn to more traditional colours as they grow older. The personality of the buyer can play an important role in colour selection, but buyers are often heavily influenced by factors such as price as well as availability.

For example, purchasing a white vehicle might be less about wanting people to think that you are young and modern and more about the climate you live in; people who live in hot climates typically prefer light-coloured vehicles over dark ones.

As Per Five Element Theory

  1. Why your Liver/Gall Bladder colour is considered as Green.
  2. Why your Heart/Small Intestine colour is considered as Red.
  3. Why your Pericardium/Triple Warmer colour is considered as Orange.
  4. Why your Spleen/Stomach colour is considered as Yellow.
  5. Why your Lungs/Large Intestine colour is considered as White or Brown
  6. Why your Kidney/Urinary bladder colour is considered as Blue or Black.

Let’s See How these colours are made in our body.

Green or Yellow vomit may indicate that you’re bringing up fluid called bile. This fluid is created by the Liver and stored in your gallbladder.

Your blood is actually red. The blue hue of your veins has more to do with how your eyes absorb and see color than the color of the blood itself. The level of oxygen in your blood cells determines the brightness of the red colour. Blood pumped directly from the heart is oxygen rich and bright red.

HCL is a highly corrosive, strong acid, and can be clear light yellow liquid.

The Lungs are made of soft, elastic, spongy tissue (it is pink in colour – the image above is grey in order to help you visualize the branches, which are in different colours).

The Large Intestine is much shorter, only about 1metre long but it is called large because it is wider. It is a reddish brown in colour.
